Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown called a local radio show to clear the air about his future with the team.

The 26-year-old called on Friday 94WIP and publicly expressed his commitment to the Eagles. He also took the opportunity to address the rumors surrounding him and his teammates following their late-season collapse.

Brown was quick to dismiss whispers of animosity between him and quarterback Jalen Hurts.

β€œI think that’s BS,” Brown said of the rumors. β€œI’m not going to discuss our relationship on air; it wasn’t a problem when I was on my six-match streak. They only started talking about that when we started losing.”

β€œYes, the locker room was fine,” he continued. ‘Players didn’t execute, that’s what it came down to. I think the media went along with the coaches a little bit. It was the players who didn’t execute.’

The Eagles were one of the title favorites heading into the season, starting 10-1. However, things became difficult for them for the rest of the campaign as they lost five of their last six.

To add to the concerns of their fan base, the Eagles lost their season finale to the struggling New York Giants. The 27-10 blow left Philadelphia scoreless in the first half.

Their season ended abruptly in a 32-9 wild card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite the noise surrounding the team, Brown remained adamant that he planned to remain in the City of Brotherly Love.

β€œI don’t have a problem,” Brown said on air. ‘I want to be here, it’s that simple. I love where I am, it’s that simple. Next question.’

β€œI’m the person you need on this team because I’m willing to hold people accountable and make those around me better,” Brown said later.

‘But no one sees that. All you see are the little flare-ups. No one in that building works harder than me, I can stand up and say that.”

Brown is entering his sixth season in the NFL and third with the Eagles.

After leaving the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia signed Brown to a four-year, $100 million contract that included a $23.2 million signing bonus.

Although the team struggled late in the season, Brown made 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2022, he made 88 receptions for 1,496 yards and tied his career-high with 11 touchdowns.
