Angie Kent reveals her father’s battle with cancer and the shocking reason her family kept the illness from her

Reality TV star Angie Kent opens up about her father Matt’s grueling battle with blood cancer.

The 34-year-old Gogglebox Australia star told this week Stellar Magazine that her parents kept her father’s diagnosis a secret until she came home during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

“Mom and Dad had known for a while, but they didn’t tell me until I got home because they know how emotional I am. Seeing someone you always thought was strong go through that was so hard,” she said.

Angie confessed that she became emotional over the reality of the disease, which struck her grandfather when she was just 11.

‘[Dad] β€œHe looked like a skeleton and his hair started falling out in clumps, so he shaved it all off,” she added.

Angie went on to say that her father, who is normally quite independent and likes to work, was not coping well with the illness.

“He hated being in bed 24/7 and became very grumpy. Then the pain got so bad that he couldn’t really talk for a while and just shut down,” she revealed.

But after her father underwent a bone marrow transplant to treat his cancer, Angie said he was “completely recovered.”
