Angie Harmon receives APOLOGY from Instacart after company’s delivery person allegedly shot and KILLED one of her family dogs: ‘We have no tolerance for violence’

Angie Harmon has received an apology from Instacart after the company’s delivery driver allegedly shot and killed one of her dogs over Easter weekend.

The 51-year-old former Law & Order star revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that her dog Oliver was killed by the customer after they delivered groceries to her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“This Easter weekend, a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot and killed our precious Oliver,” she wrote, alongside some sweet photos of the deceased pet. “He got out of his car, delivered the food and then shot our dog.”

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Instacart addressed Angie’s claims, revealing that the delivery driver in question has been suspended from his role.

“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We do not tolerate violence of any kind and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform,” a spokesperson said.

Harmon claimed the driver delivered her groceries before shooting her dog Oliver. She disputed claims of ‘self-defense’ as the driver reportedly appeared uninjured

Harmon claimed the driver was male and used a female profile, which she reposted, although their identities have not been publicly released

“We have been in direct contact with the customer and are working with police on their investigation.”

In her Instagram post, Harmon claimed the Instacart shopper knew he wasn’t being recorded before the dog was shot, noting that her Ring security camera was charging inside at the time of the incident.

“Our Ring camera was charging in the house, which it saw and then knew it wasn’t recording,” she wrote.

Harmon noted that the driver was released by police after claiming he shot the dog in “self-defense.”

However, the Rizzoli & Isles star disputed that her dog had attacked the driver, writing: “He had no scratch or bite on him and his pants weren’t torn either.”

She went on to describe a chilling interaction where the driver reportedly admitted to killing her dog.

“He shot our dog with my daughters and myself at home and kept saying, ‘Yes, I shot your dog. Yes, I did,” she wrote.

Harmon identified the driver as a man, but claimed he used a woman’s identity on his Instacart profile, which she posted on Instagram, although the identity of the delivery person has not yet been publicly released.

“We are completely traumatized and beyond devastated by the loss of our beloved boy and family member,” she concluded, adding, “#RIP OLLIE.”

In an update from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to TMZlaw enforcement officials confirmed that the Instacart driver had claimed he shot the dog in self-defense.

She added a short clip of her theatrically clearing her throat off camera as a napping Oliver sat on the couch that was out of reach, before another woman gave him head scratches.

“Investigations revealed that a delivery person arrived at the home to deliver consumables. The driver told officers that a dog attacked him while he was inside the home and that he defended himself by firing a single shot, striking and fatally wounding the dog,” police said. ‘There was another dog present in the house, but it did not attack.’

They added that the department’s Animal Control Division was also involved in the response to the shooting, but the department confirmed that no charges had been filed against the driver at that time.

Police added that they were not looking for any other people following the shooting.

At this time, TMZ reported that law enforcement officials have “closed” the case and “declined to release the delivery person’s statement or alleged injuries.”

Additionally, the outlet reported that police “didn’t want to provide a specific story about what the dog did to show aggression or why it was self-defense.”

During the incident, Harmon’s attorney, John Buric, said she was upstairs putting food in the squirrel feeder while her children “were in the backyard when they fired a shot.”

After hearing the noise, her children reportedly “ran to the front of the house and found Oliver lying there in a pool of blood.”

Harmon described the delivery person as “boastful” about killing her beloved pup and said he kept saying repeatedly, “Yes, I just shot your dog.”

Harmon’s post included a sweet photo of someone scratching Ollie’s chin, as well as a photo of the dog when he was a puppy, plus photos of him cuddling with her other dogs.

She included an adorable video of herself theatrically clearing her throat off camera because Ollie broke the rules and sat on the couch, but then another woman gave him some much-appreciated head scratches instead of kicking him out to swear.

Harmon then wrote a message to the delivery person on her Instagram stories.

“To the man who took Ollie from us, your actions are despicable and unforgivable,” she seethed. “Not only have you robbed us of a beloved member of our family, but you have also traumatized us beyond measure.”

She said it was “incomprehensible” that “someone could commit such a heartless act.”

Harmon is best known for her role on Law & Order and her starring role on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles (pictured)

Harmon added, “I’m devastated that I didn’t get to say goodbye to him.”

After modeling early in her career, Harmon got her big acting break on the bizarre two-season series Baywatch Nights.

However, it was her addition to the main cast of Law & Order from 1998 to 2001 that made her a hit with fans and critics.

Harmon played assistant DA Abbie Carmichael, who worked closely with longtime star Sam Waterston’s character Jack McCoy.

She became a popular television star with numerous leading and supporting roles, and occasional film roles.

Harmon’s biggest role to date was in the crime drama series Rizzoli & Isles, in which she played a Boston homicide detective who teams up with a medical examiner to solve crimes.

The TNT series ran from 2010 to 2016 and lasted seven seasons.
