Angels’ $245 million man Anthony Rendon is caught on camera trying to PUNCH an Oakland A’s fan after grabbing him by the shirt in an ugly Opening Day altercation: “Did you call me ab** **?”
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon was caught in a physical confrontation with an A’s fan in Thursday’s opener in Oakland.
In a video that has since gone viral, the 32-year-old Texas native is seen grabbing the fan’s jersey before hitting and missing the man as the Angels entered the clubhouse following their 2-1 loss to the A’s.
‘What did you say?’ Rendón asked as he grabbed the fan in the front row by the shirt. ‘You called me a b****, huh?’
The man is heard denying Rendon’s accusation, but the Angels star did not hear him.
“Yes you did, yes you did mother *****,” Rendon said before smacking the A’s fan with an open hand, who tells him to “calm down.”

Neither Rendón nor the team have addressed the issue publicly.
Rendon, the 2019 All-Star Game and World Series champion with the Washington Nationals, capitalized on his success with a seven-year, $245 million contract with the Angels, but has battled injury problems ever since.
Rendon has yet to play more than 60 games in any season with the Angels, though that includes the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.
Plus, his .250 average in four seasons in Anaheim is 40 points below his mark in seven seasons with the Nationals. Meanwhile, his slugging percentage dropped from .490 with Washington to just .417 with Los Angeles.
