Angelina Jolie’s dad Jon Voight pleads for Brad Pitt to end ‘nonsense’ divorce battle for sake of ‘kids’ stability’

Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voight has begged her ex Brad Pitt to end their eight-year “nonsense” divorce battle, for the sake of their children.

Voight, 85, who criticized Jolie’s political views last month, said Fox News Digital that he wanted the couple to “find a way to make peace” — just days after Pitt’s daughter Shiloh officially dropped his last name.

He said, ‘You know, I think the kids need some stability. I love the kids and I love my daughter. And I want Brad to do the best he can, you know, what he needs to do. End this nonsense.

He added that he “doesn’t talk to his grandchildren as much as [he’d] like.’

Pitt and Jolie have six children and separated in 2016. However, their divorce, which also included a heated battle over a vineyard, continues.

Shiloh, who filed a motion to drop her Pitt name on her 18th birthday in May, hired and paid her own lawyer. She filed a motion to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

TMZ reports that no formal hearing was held for the name change. The petition was approved Monday, according to official court documents.

Last month, Shiloh placed an ad in the newspaper in honor of the name change – which is a standard step before the court will approve a name change.

The communication also contains declared that anyone who objected to the petition should appear before the judge.

A source close to the case told Ny Breaking.com last month: ‘Shiloh has hired her own lawyer and paid the fees herself, so Angie doesn’t know and can’t talk about it.

“But if you’re asking whether this is related to the history of abuse or the violation of victims’ rights at Shiloh, then yes, it is.”

The revelation that Shiloh paid herself suggests that the ugly feud between former couple Pitt, 60, and Jolie, 48, may still be ongoing in the form of legal action from the six children the couple once had.

There have been long custody battles, which ultimately resulted in a victory for Pitt. In 2021, he was granted 50-50 custody, but this was overturned on appeal.

He has had a judge intervene to tell Angelina she can’t listen to his cell phone conversations with the children. The judge has also ordered “reunification counseling” for Pitt and the children.

The actor set up a skate park at his home for Shiloh and recently an art studio to express their shared interest in art.

He has sent cars and security to take the children from her home to his when there is an assigned custody visit, but unfortunately none of this has brought them closer together.

Son Pax said in a 2016 Instagram post that all four of the youngest children — including Shiloh — “shake with fear in his presence.” The two oldest children had already refused to see him at the time.

The current situation has left the children – Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Knox and Vivienne, 16 – with his ex-wife as a close-knit gang of seven.

Pitt has been embroiled in an ongoing divorce battle for years, reportedly stemming from a 2016 incident on a plane in which Jolie accused Pitt of assaulting her; the family is seen dating back to 2011

A major theme seems to be the infamous private jet confrontation in 2016.

An FBI report into the incident, released in 2022, revealed that Jolie accused Pitt of physical abuse during a flight to California in 2016. She alleged that he was drunk and that he grabbed and shook her by the head, then later pushed her over, as part of a confrontation reportedly related to their children.

Jolie told the FBI that Pitt told the children she was “destroying the family” and that he punched the ceiling of the plane four times.

She claimed that at one point he threw beer over her and a blanket under which she and several children were lying.

Sources close to Pitt later claimed that he had never hit any of the children, although they did admit he had been drinking.

This follows recent claims that Pitt and Jolie’s eight-year divorce is still ongoing because neither star can ‘let it go’.

A source said People “Their differences took over” in the relationship, they added, adding that the situation “got bad and wasn’t good for anyone.”

“All that bitterness is partly why the divorce has lasted so many years. Neither of them is letting it go. You would think they would have gotten over it and just made up.”

Another insider said: “They both had issues with each other. The differences piled up over time. It’s very sad for the children, but also for the parents. Divorce, especially a high-profile divorce, can be challenging for the whole family.

“They both care about the children.”

Pitt and Jolie entered a public relationship shortly after he and then-wife Jennifer Aniston announced their separation in 2005.

The Mr. And Mrs. Smith cast members remained single for years, despite having multiple adopted and biological children. They got engaged in 2012, and finally tied the knot in 2014.

It wasn’t until two years later, in 2016, that the Maleficent actress filed for divorce. In 2019, she and Pitt were officially declared single.

Pitt is now in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, 35.
