The 49-year-old Maria actress addressed the massive massacre in Syria as she shifted the spotlight from her personal life to her humanitarian efforts.
‘Syria: more than 17 million people need help. Syria has been decimated by nearly fourteen years of conflict, displacement and economic decline.
“While the recent change in government brings an opportunity for a fresh start, millions still need assistance, and critical needs remain unmet.”
The information came from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), an organization that advocates for displaced people and their rights.

Last week, Jolie and Pitt reached a settlement in their divorce.
Eight years after Angelina filed for divorce on the grounds of ‘irreconcilable differences’, the former couple has finally agreed on terms and both signed off.
Angelina’s attorney James Simon told PEOPLE, “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left behind all the belongings they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.
‘This is just part of a long-term process that started eight years ago.
“Honestly, Angelina is exhausted, but she’s relieved that this one part is over.”
Although the split was acrimonious, a source close to Jolie added: “She doesn’t speak ill of it [Pitt] publicly or privately. She did her best to be light after a dark time.”
Angelina, 49, filed for divorce from Brad, 61, in September 2016 after just two years of marriage.
It happened just days after a private plane trip in which Angelina alleged Brad abused her and their six children, but authorities did not charge him after an investigation.

Angelina and Brad later released a joint statement stating that they would keep all divorce proceedings private for the sake of their children. They said: ‘The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to protect the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and retaining a private judge to make all necessary legal decisions and the expeditious resolution of remaining issues to facilitate.
“The parents are determined to act as a united front to achieve recovery and reunification.”
The former couple share children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 16.
They were declared legally single in 2019, but have battled since the split over custody and legal issues over their French estate and winery, Château Miraval.
Meanwhile, Jolie has a promising new project planned for early 2025 that will keep her passport busy.
The Oscar-winning actress’ first film since finalizing her divorce from Pitt will be an action-packed, female-driven film.
The 4 beauty – who is now filming Stitches in Paris – will star in Maude v Maude.
Her costar Halle Berry called it a “mix of Mr And Mrs Smith and Mission Impossible with a comedic twist” and two women in the leading roles.
Deadline added that it will be a ‘Bond vs. Bourne’-esque global action thriller with exotic locations.
Berry told the audience at the Red Sea International Film Festival that she might return to Saudi Arabia to film the movie.
There will also be several other locations that moviegoers are not used to seeing in a movie, Berry said. That means Jolie will travel a lot for the project.
A shooting date has yet to be announced, but in September Halle told Yahoo that the film is her first project for 2025: “Going into next year, that’s on our docket and I’m very excited.”

Berry said earlier this year that she already has a “bond” with Jolie over their “divorces and exes.”
The two have never worked together before.
Halle revealed that they actually spent some time together discussing their love life.
The 57-year-old actress – who was previously married to David Justice, Eric Benet and Olivier Martinez – told Variety: ‘We’ve talked a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let’s say that.’
Despite this, Halle acknowledged that their friendship actually got off to a “rocky start.”
The Hollywood actress – whose co-star has also been married three times – said: “We had a rough start and I think that will serve us well in our screen time together.”
Jolie has been busy promoting her new role in Maria and is even singing opera for the role
But she also told Yahoo that she admires Jolie: “It was a pleasure to work with [Angelina]. We seemed like two unlikely friends, but when we sat down together, we realized that we were both the thing that neither of us knew we needed. You know, we have so many things in common and we realized that during our first meeting.”
Other projects for Jolie in 2025: the films Every Note Played with Christoph Waltz and Maleficent 3, it is claimed.
She will also promote Without Blood, which stars her friend Salma Hayek. It is not yet known when the film will be released in theaters.
The film premiered in the Special Presentations section at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024.
Angelina will also work at her store Atelier Jolie in New York with children Zahara and Vivienne.
