Angelina Jolie lands another high-profile job and it has nothing to do with movies… as divorce fight with Brad Pitt nears 8 years

Last year, Angelina Jolie’s Atelier Jolie store opened.

And this month, the actress’s New York City store was busy with classes on creative sartorial practices.

On Thursday there is a session on ‘upcycling’, which means reusing old stuff. On August 28th there is a class called Experimental Drawing with Andrew Castrucci.

Before that there was a class on intimi, where you can learn how to make designer-inspired intimi. And there was another meeting with Giancarlo Cipri on screen printing and Mimi Plange on the use of felt applications.

Jolie also hosted a conversation with artist Ferrari Sheppard.

The predominantly brown and beige 6,600 sq ft space features an inviting café and art gallery. It is located at 57 Great Jones Street as if it were open Tuesday through Saturday.

“It’s a vibrant place with a really chic vibe. I like it, it’s great,” said one Atelier Jolie fan. “It’s a cool place to hang out.”

“It was definitely a labor of love for Jolie to put artists in the spotlight. And the coffee is good, the cafe is nice,” the source added.

“Everyone there seems genuinely interested in not doing what The Gap sells — there’s a lot of crafts. The classes are cool. And people talk about how incredible Angelina is for opening the store. They adore her. There are a lot of Jolie fans there.

‘Angelina does come to the Atelier, and some of her children do too.’

The store features clothing from sustainable brands from all over the world, Atelier Jolie’s own collection, art and a café run by refugees called Eat Offbeat.

Located in New York’s NoHo neighborhood, it was once the studio and home of Jean-Michel Basquiat, according to WSJ.

Last year, Jolie told the WSJ that she will “probably lose money, maybe even for a while” with her store.

“If I can ultimately implement a few things that I think will improve things and I break even, that will be a huge win,” the Salt star said.

Earlier this year they put out a call for creators.

‘To all creators – Everyone can participate in some way.

“Every customer will be part of it… And everyone who participates online or at the many events will be part of it… But today we are focusing on one part of our Atelier family.”

The Tomb Raider star added that she was looking for “skilled tailors.”

‘The first atelier will be in NYC, this post will be for skilled tailors who live there. We hope to have more soon as we build a global family.

‘We are looking for tailors who understand quality and creativity. Atelier Jolie will select a number of emerging, skilled tailors who have a strong point of view on design.

‘The goal of this collective is to collaborate with clients, supporting them with tools to design and create. You will also have the opportunity to develop and sell your own line in the store under your name, helping to launch your own new sustainable brand after you leave the residency.

‘We understand that you may not have been able to work on sustainability for financial reasons. That is why we are happy to support you in this endeavor.

‘We will soon be looking for artisans, with a focus on embroidery, fabric painting, fabric manipulation, etc… There will be several calls for talented submissions. Some in-house… Some for special events and salon dinners… Some will be featured in online tutorials. All to share your creativity.

‘As you fill out the submission form below, I encourage everyone as an artist to always protect your creations. You should never submit confidential designs… share what you have already shared with the world. We will review the work with respect and integrity.

“We look forward to reviewing them. Remember, if you don’t hear from us this round, there will be many more rounds and opportunities to come.

‘Thanks in advance for sharing your creativity. Be bold.

‘Love, Angelina Jolie, Founder.’
