Angelina Jolie has to live in Los Angeles because of her nasty Brad Pitt divorce but when the twins turn 18 she’ll move 8K miles away

Angelina Jolie is eager to leave Los Angeles, where the daughter of Jon Voight grew up with single mother Marcheline Bertrand in the Beverly Hills neighborhood.

The 49-year-old Oscar winner spoke in the September 4 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine on Friday that she would rather live in a country like Cambodia, where there is more privacy.

In it, the Maleficent actress finds more ‘humanity’.

But the star, whose next film is about Maria Callas, can’t pack up and leave as she continues to struggle with her eight-year divorce from Brad Pitt.

As they continue to negotiate custody arrangements for their two minor children, Vivienne and Knox, Jolie has no other place to live.

Vivienne and Knox will come of age when they turn 18 on July 12, 2026.

Jolie and Pitt were responsible for four other children, but they are now adults and can move around the world as they please.

They are Maddox, 18, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18.

Jolie currently lives in a historic home in Los Feliz, California.

It’s a Beaux-Arts mansion built for Cecil B. DeMille, which she bought after divorcing Brad in 2016.

Pitt is in the Los Angeles area. He’s busy making movies, his next one is Wolfs with George Clooney. And he’s dating jeweler Ines de Ramon.

“I grew up in this town. I’m here because I have to be here because of a divorce, but once they’re 18, I can leave,” Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter.

‘If you have a large family, you want them to have privacy, peace and security.

‘I have a home now where I can raise my children, but sometimes this place… the humanity that I encountered everywhere in the world is not the humanity that I grew up with here.

‘[After Los Angeles,] I will spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I will spend time visiting my family members wherever they are in the world.’

The artist also talked about how much she enjoys having people around her.

“I like being with people that I love. I’m not someone who begs to be alone. I’m not someone who thinks, ‘Oh, I wish I could just be alone so I could have my guilty pleasures.’

‘Because my guilty pleasure is usually being with someone. I love doing something that makes them happy. That makes me really happy.’

And she doesn’t have many friends in Hollywood, because she always starts talking about ‘betrayal’.

“I don’t really have relationships like that,” the Gia actress added.

‘Maybe it’s losing your parent young. Maybe it works. Maybe it’s being someone who’s been betrayed a lot.

“I don’t have that many of those warm, close relationships that I lean on. But I have a few, and a few is enough. Loung [Ung, the Cambodian American human rights activist] is one of my best friends.

“My mother was very close to me. I lost her. I’ve had a few friends over the years who weren’t there for my family when they needed it. I have a few people I trust. What did Maria Callas die with? Two trusted people.”

Jolie also spoke about her feelings about Hollywood in her interview.

“I became an artist at a young age just to help my mom pay the bills,” she said.

“I’ve had times where I’ve loved being an artist and I’ve had times where I’ve felt very, very far removed from being comfortable in the business. I hope I can have a new relationship with it.”

She has two new movies.

Maria, about opera singer Maria Callas, and Without Blood, the war drama she wrote and directed based on the 2002 novel by Alessandro Baricco.

She said that her film Maria is very personal to her and that the film really touched her.

And Jolie felt sorry for the singer.

“People were quite aggressive when she couldn’t be what they wanted her to be. They were very unkind, and she carried a lot of trauma with her and she worked very, very hard. I just really started to care about her and wanted that aspect of the story to be told,” she told HR.

She also said she reacted emotionally when she was taught to express herself as an opera singer.

‘My first lesson, I cried. I was sad, I was scared. It was a strange physical body reaction.

I stood there, and [the instructor] said, “Okay, just be in your body. Take a deep breath, let it all out and just open your mouth and let that sound come from within.”

‘And then I got really emotional. You discover how much we lock our pain in our bodies.

“Our voice gets tense, our shoulders get up, our stomachs get hurt, we do all these things, and it’s a protection for us. The hardest part was feeling again and breathing again and opening up in the way that this film required and that I really hadn’t done in a while.”

And she feels drawn to creating.

“I wish I knew how to be still and calm. I’m constantly being propelled forward, and that’s not always the best feeling. For better or worse, I’m a very deeply feeling person and kind of a raw nerve. So when I feel something deeply, I jump up. I feel alive or I connect with something true within myself.”

Angelina said that someone in a “previous relationship” told her she would never be able to sing, which held her back for years. “So it took a lot of work for me to get over a lot of things to start singing.”

And she was glad that sons Maddox and Pax were there for her on the set of Maria to comfort her when a scene got tough. They worked as assistant directors.

“You really try to hide from your children how much pain and sadness you’re carrying around. And so for them to be there when you’re expressing it on that level, I think it was the first time they’ve ever heard me cry like that. That’s usually before the shower.”

Next up? She’d like to play a real villain, not a mean, deep-down good person like Maleficent, but someone who’s deeply disturbed.
