Angelina Jolie fans rave over latest trailer for Maria Callas biopic: ‘Give her all the Oscars!’
Angelina Jolie has stoked the Oscars buzz following the release of the official trailer for her upcoming Netflix film Maria, in which she plays opera legend Maria Callas.
Reacting to the film’s emotional new preview, which follows Callas’ final days in Paris in the 1970s, the 49-year-old actress’ fans took to social media to say they were impressed by her latest performance.
‘Holy s**t, I can’t wait to see this movie!!! Seriously, I know I will be blown away by Angelina Jolie’s performance as Maria. The Oscar will come for her,” one X user predicted.
Another urged the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science to “give Angelina Jolie the Oscar now for her performance as Maria Callas.”
A third, who admitted they hadn’t even seen the trailer, joked that they were already planning to “run the Angelina Jolie Oscar campaign.”

Maria, according to a synopsis, “follows the American-Greek soprano as she retreats to Paris after a glamorous and tumultuous life in the public eye.”
The film aims to “relive the legendary soprano in her final days as the diva reckons with her identity and life.”
She died in Paris in 1977 of a heart attack at the age of 53.
The highly anticipated film will hit theaters in November and stream on Netflix in December.
Netflix will release the film in US theaters on November 27 before debuting on the streaming platform on December 11.
The mother-of-six previously won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Lisa Rowe, a diagnosed sociopath, in the 1999 psychological thriller Girl, Interrupted.
In 2008, she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Christine Collins in the mystery crime drama Changeling.
