Angelina Jolie, 48, spends quality family time with son Pax, 19, in NYC after working together on new film Without Blood… one day after making rounds with daughter Vivienne

It seems like A-list actress and director Angelina Jolie slowly but surely making her career in Hollywood a family affair.

After sons Maddox and Pax worked in the assistant director’s department for her upcoming war drama film Without Blood, daughter Vivienne will now be at her mother’s side as her volunteer assistant for the new Broadway musical The Outsiders, for which Jolie is the lead producer.

With much going on in the lead up to the Broadway venture, which is an adaptation of SE Hinton’s novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film and her new clothing brand Atelier Jolie, the Maleficent star has been spotted in recent days as she business in New York City.

On Wednesday, Jolie made the rounds in Downtown Manhattan’s artsy Soho neighborhood with Pax, who also secretly worked as a performer under the name Embtto, according to Page six.

Their time together came one day after the Oscar-winning actress spent much of her Tuesday in Soho with Vivienne.

The ever-stylish Jolie, 48, looked New York fashion-forward in all-black for her day with Pax, 19, consisting of trousers with a matching blazer over a blouse with pretty lace along the neckline.

The protective mother led the attack through a few different shops and galleries while wearing sexy black heels and her brown locks flowing long and straight past her shoulders, parted slightly to the left.

Pax opted for a casual yet stylish look in black pants with a tan sweatshirt and white old-school Converse sneakers.

He also wore a black baseball cap over his short dark hair, as he and his mother carried bags on their afternoon outing.

One of the bags Pax seemed to have in hand was for his camera and other equipment related to photography.

Pax previously worked with his mother on First They Killed My Father (2017), doing behind-the-scenes stills for the drama film, which is pretty much the same job he had for Without Blood.

‘We work well together. When a crew is at its best, it feels like one big family, so it felt natural,” Jolie said of Pax and Maddox’s work in the assistant director department, which acts as the liaison between her job as a director and other departments of production.

Pax, the second eldest son of Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt, is reportedly serious about his love of art, and that he is preparing for a show at a gallery in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Adopted from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in March 2007, the artistic young man graduated from university in 2021.

So far it is not known exactly what kind of art he focuses on, but there are people who describe his style as ‘abstract’.

It has been speculated that the mother and son duo’s visit together in New York City may be related to business with her new clothing brand.

The project, aptly named Atelier Jolie, is a creative collective that the filmmaker says is a place “where everyone can create.” Scheduled to launch in the fall, Atelier will be a place “for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, patternmakers and artisans from around the world,” she added.

The Atelier Jolie brand, which has been in the making for years, will use only leftover garments, quality vintage material and deadstock (aka surplus) fabrics, according to People.

The mission, which includes reducing waste and creating clothing that can be passed down through generations, is something the acclaimed actress has been doing for years.

On Tuesday, Jolie looked just as New York cool in a long black dress for her day with her new Outsiders assistant, Vivienne, by her side.

The pair were first seen together exiting a building in Soho and then making their way to a waiting vehicle.

At certain times, the writer and director of The Land Of Blood And Honey wore a black blazer over her shoulders, all while wearing a pair of brown heels.

As for her teenage daughter, she kept it casual in the fashion department in a white sweatshirt tucked into baggy black pants along with black sneakers.

Mother and daughter ended up with theater actor Anthony Norman for dinner. The trio were seen sharing welcome hugs on the street before entering the establishment for food and drink.

During their time working together on The Outsiders project, the mother-of-six says Vivienne’s work ethic already reminds her of her own mother.

“Viv reminds me of my mom in that she’s not focused on being the center of attention, but on being a support for other creatives,” Jolie said in a statement obtained by People. “She’s very thoughtful and serious about theater and works hard to understand as best she can how she can contribute.”

Vivienne was actually the person who inspired the filmmaker to get involved with The Outsiders when she took her to the show’s world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in California earlier this year.

That led to a meeting with author Hinton, who wrote the book as a teenager around Vivienne’s age.

The Outsiders Broadway musical, written by Adam Rapp and Justin Levine, is directed by Danya Taymor; music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance); musical accompaniment, arrangements and orchestrations by Justin Levine; and choreography by Rick Kuperman and Jeff Kuperman.

“I attended the Lee Strasberg Institute, where I realized my first love, as an artist, was the theater,” said the Academy Award winner. ‘I hadn’t found a way back until now. I hope to contribute as I continue to learn from this amazing team, who I’ve worked with since my daughter took me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse.”

The Broadway cast and dates for The Outsiders musical are still pending.

Along with Pax, Vivienne, and Maddox, Jolie also shares three other children with ex-husband Brad Pitt, including: Knox, 15, Shiloh, 17, and Zahara, 18.
