Angel Reese skipped the WNBA orange carpet on Thursday night, as the Chicago Sky rookie opted to attend an NBA Summer League game instead, delivering a bizarre critique of the WNBA in the process.
Reese was selected to play in this weekend’s WNBA All-Star Game and the league marked the start of the weekend with a special event in Phoenix.
While Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson were among the players dressing up on the orange carpet, Reese was a whole state away attending the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Earlier this week, she was spotted alongside Celtics star Jaylen Brown and his girlfriend (and fellow WNBA player) Kysre Gondrezick at a Lakers Summer League game.
Reese didn’t try to hide where she was on Thursday, as she posted a selfie from the sidelines to her Instagram Story.

She was also shown on tvwhile she was chatting with a friend.
A fan criticized the Chicago Sky player, writing: “Angel just pissed me off. Your first all star event as a rookie and you’re still in Vegas for a fucking summer league game????? Have a great f*****g night man.”
Reese then responded, “It’s okay, honey. I mind my business that PAYS me.”
It’s unclear why she would be paid to attend an NBA Summer League game.
In Phoenix, Clark, Wilson and other WNBA stars hit the orange carpet two days before the WNBA All-Stars take on Team USA.
Clark, who was not selected for the Olympic squad, nevertheless had a big smile on her face as she posed for photos.
Las Vegas Aces star Wilson, who travels to Paris later this month, was also in good spirits as she wore a black lace dress.

The same goes for Sabrina Ionescu and Jackie Young, who will also be in Paris.
Other names including Dearica Hambry, Sophie Cunningham and college player Hailey Van Lith were also present at the event.
The WNBA All-Stars will take on Team USA on Saturday, after which the Olympic squad will head to Paris for the Olympic Games.
