Angel Reese takes a shot at Caitlin Clark before DELETING tweet after Chicago Sky beat New York Liberty

Angel Reese appeared to challenge Caitlin Clark in a hastily deleted tweet after the Chicago Sky defeated New York Liberty 90-81 on Thursday night.

“And that’s achieving a WIN in a packed area, not just because of one player on our charter flight. #SKYTOWN,” Reese wrote, adding a kiss emoji at the end.

Clark is credited with the surge of interest in the WNBA after being picked first by the Indiana Fever in April – the same event where Reese was picked by Chicago.

The two were also big rivals in college, with Reese playing at LSU while Clark was at Iowa.

Reese and her Sky team didn’t have any charter flights at the beginning of the season, but Clark and Iowa did.

Clark and the Fever have lost their first five games of the season.

And on Thursday, Reese addressed the suggestion that women’s basketball was solely because of Clark.

‘It’s not about one person, I don’t think people realize that [because] the narrative out there is just one person changing the game,” she said.

“It’s a lot of us. There are so many great players and it is long overdue for us to see that our impact has changed the game.

“I think it’s great for all of us, and we’re just going to keep going.”
