Angel Reese has revealed that she has been “overwhelmed” at times by the whirlwind summer that followed LSU’s national title win vs. Iowa.

Reese scored 15 points in the Hawkeyes’ 102–85 blowout as the Lady Tigers won the school’s first-ever NCAA women’s basketball championship.

She has since benefited from the media attention she received from the coverage of her taunting Caitlin Clark; appeared in Sports Illustrated and signed an NIL deal with Baton Rouge Mercedes Benz, among other things.

Reese told People that her newfound fame has largely been a positive experience.

“It’s a blessing, honestly. I kind of embraced it. People look at me,’ she said. “I mean, it’s a fast-paced life I lead. I think I need to grow up fast.

“I will go down in history for doing what I did, and our team will go down in history for winning. I’m glad we were able to do that for Louisiana.”

With fame comes obligations and a reality different from that of the layman. Now Reese can no longer enjoy the life of a typical college student.

“I don’t party, I don’t go out, I just live my life,” she said. ‘I’m not on campus much because of my security work. So I stay in my apartment and my teammates come over and we have dinner.

“We cook or we do whatever, we have fun, watch movies, listen to music, do whatever. TikTok.’

Reese has 2.1 million followers on the platform and recently posted a video featuring female rapper Latto.

She uploaded a video with Grizzlies star Ja Morant on the day of LSU’s championship parade through Baton Rouge.

Amidst the chaos that occasionally engulfs her life, Reese has found comfort in her faith.

“I’ve been through so many things, and I think the only way I’ll get through these things is to just take time with God and give him his time. That’s something I emphasized this year.’

Reese joined fellow LSU student-athlete Olivia Dunne at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party in Manhattan last month. Both appeared in the magazine. Reese shot in Los Angeles while Dunn was shot in the Dominican Republic.
