Angel Reese misses second straight LSU game amid speculation she’s been suspended from the Tigers as head coach Kim Mulkey refuses to explain the star’s absence

LSU women’s basketball player Angel Reese missed a second straight game against Texas Southern on Monday night.

The reason why the 2023 NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player won’t play is still uncertain, with Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey incredibly tight-lipped about Reese’s situation.

“Angel Reese is still part of the team. She’s not in uniform tonight,” Mulkey said Monday night.

Reese hasn’t played since last Tuesday’s win over Kent State, where she was benched for the second half of the game.

Rumors are swirling online about why Reese is out of action, with the 6-foot-1 center posting at X, “please don’t believe everything you read,” on Sunday.

Mulkey offered little explanation after LSU’s win over Southeastern Louisiana on Friday about Reese’s predicament.

‘Do you want me to explain why? It is very clear that Angel was not wearing a uniform,” Mulkey said Friday.

“Angel is part of this basketball team and we hope to see her sooner rather than later,” Mulkey continued.

Before her absence, Reese averaged 17 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Reese is one of the most recognizable faces in college basketball and was an integral part of the Tigers’ national championship victory last season.
