Angel Reese is serenaded by Usher at LA concert as singer tries to distance himself from Diddy links
Usher’s connection to disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs didn’t stop WNBA star Angel Reese from having a great time this weekend.
The injured Chicago Sky rookie was serenaded by Usher at the recently opened Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, where Reese was briefly coaxed into a duet with the 45-year-old R&B legend.
As always, the lanky 22-year-old was dressed for the occasion in a white summer dress, which may have contributed to Usher spotting her in the front row of his performance on Sunday.
Usher has faced criticism after several of his social media posts from his time with Diddy were recently deleted from the singer’s X account. Usher has since claimed his account was hacked.
Usher was not directly accused of any criminal conduct in the case against Combs, who was arrested earlier this month and charged with crimes including racketeering and sex trafficking. Combs has pleaded not guilty.

However, singer Dawn Richard has filed a lawsuit against Usher, accusing him of being present when Combs physically abused his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Usher and Diddy’s relationship spans decades: Combs was an executive producer on Usher’s first album, 1994’s Usher, and he lived with Diddy as a teenager while learning the trade in the 1990s.
“You’d open a door and see someone doing it, or multiple people in a room having an orgy,” Usher told Rolling Stone in 2004. “You never knew what was going to happen.”
Reese recently lost the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award to rival Caitlin Clark, who also played for the Indiana Fever, and fans were quick to report it online.
“Reese sings as CC competes in the playoffs,” read one tweet after footage of the Usher concert surfaced.
Others joked about Usher’s involvement in the Diddy scandal: “Usher made my Angel nervous.”
“Doesn’t she know Usher could be arrested soon?” one fan added. “She needs to get better advisors.”
Reese’s season was ended prematurely due to a wrist injury, which kept her Sky out of the playoffs.
