Angel Reese was ejected late Tuesday night in the final quarter of the Chicago Sky’s 88-75 loss to the New York Liberty.
With 2:31 left in the game, Reese was whistled for her fifth personal foul after reaching Liberty center Jonquel Jones on an offensive rebound.
After flirting with a foul call, Reese appeared to have said something to official Charles Watson that led to a technical foul.
Although her choice of words remains a mystery, Reese made Watson suffer as she walked away – resulting in a back-to-back technology that led to her eviction.
While her teammates stood stiffly, amazed at what was happening, the Chicago crowd booed as Reese walked into the tunnel. The rookie finished the game with 13 points and ten rebounds in 24 minutes.

The exclusion follows the former LSU star claiming she is embracing an antagonistic role stemming from her rivalry with Caitlin Clark.
Over the weekend, Reese received backlash after cheering on her teammate Chennedy Carter for checking on Clark in their 71-70 loss to the Indiana Fever.
“People go to games, celebrities come to games, arenas sell out. Just because of one single game,” Reese said Monday. “And just looking at that, I’ll take on that role. I will take on the role of the villain and I will continue to do so. And so be it for my teammates.’
‘I know I will go down in history. I’ll look back in 20 years and say, ‘Yes, the reason we watch women’s basketball isn’t just because of one person. It’s also because of me.’ And I want you to realize that many of us have done so much for this game.
“There are so many great players in this league who have deserved this for a long time and thankfully it’s coming now.”
