Angel Reese has ‘main character syndrome’, claims Dave Portnoy – who tells WNBA star to ‘shut the f*** up’ after latest Caitlin Clark comments

Dave Portnoy didn’t hold back on his comments about Angel Reese after losing to Caitlin Clark for the second time in the WNBA.

On Sunday, Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered a 91-83 loss to the Indiana Fever, with Clark’s 23-point performance – parlayed with nine assists and eight rebounds – leading the way. The loss was a rematch of their June 1 meeting, which Indiana won 71-70.

Although Reese posted a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, her game was marked by a flagrant 1 after hitting Clark in the head while driving to the basket in the third quarter. Reese’s comments after the game didn’t help her case, as she accused officials of having “special whistles.”

After Jason Whitlock called Reese delusional and Skip Bayless suggested she was jealous of Clark, the Barstool Sports chief threw more verbal haymakers at the former LSU star.

“Caitlin Clark takes the high road, and all Angel Reese does after the game is shoot at her,” Portnoy said.

Dave Portnoy claimed that Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has “main character syndrome.”

“That’s blatant, so shut up, Angel Reese,” he exclaimed. “You can’t have your cake. All she does is complain [and] to moan. She has main character syndrome. You’re not Caitlin. You’ll never be Caitlin. So shut up. And own it.”

Instead of accepting the loss and taking responsibility for hitting her rival in the head, Reese used her post-match press conference to criticize the officiating official. She also claimed her team “played hard” when they put Clark on edge again after their controversial meeting on June 1.

“I think we played really hard,” Reese said. “I think a lot of times we’ve been up really high and we haven’t gotten a lot of calls.”

“And looking back on the film, I saw a lot of calls that weren’t made,” she continued. “I guess some people have a special whistle.”

With Reese already receiving a lot of criticism for her comments, Portnoy suggested he “would respect” if the forward admitted to maliciously insulting the much smaller rookie sensation.

“Say like, ‘Yeah, I hate that girl, I had her close.’ Play basketball my a**’. “I knew I could hit her in the head and knock her over, so that’s what I did.” Then I would respect it,” Portnoy added.

His not-so-PG rant comes after he tweeted unfiltered responses during Sunday’s game.

After Dana Evans hooked Clark’s arm on the way to the basket, Portnoy posted the play, writing, “Chicago Sky doing Chicago Sky things.”

“Shock. Angelo Reese and the Sky doing Angel Reese and Sky things,” he wrote after Reese’s hard foul. “By the way, Caitlin is cooking them.”

The win lifted the Fever to two straight wins and a 5-10 record. Meanwhile, The Sky have lost their last four games and are 4-9 on the season.
