Angel Reese fans leap to her defense after the WNBA star’s NYE outfit causes internet frenzy
After deleting her Instagram account on Thursday, Angel Reese’s fans defended her and doubled down on saying she didn’t deserve the internet chaos associated with her racy New Year’s Eve outfit.
Reese’s brown outfit showed off a large portion of her chest and sparked many comments saying the outfit was inappropriate and her behavior was setting a bad example for her fans.
The Chicago Sky star’s supporters got involved, saying she dresses and acts like any other 22-year-old.
Reese herself posted the video of her outfit to her Instagram page and her removal came 48 hours after the video selfie showed the brown dress.
Alongside Caitlin Clark, Reese has been at the forefront of the rising popularity of women’s basketball in America, and has been the more controversial figure of the two, which has endeared and polarized her fan base.
That fan base kept her reaching out to Reese, even though her main source of social media doesn’t exist.

“Angel Reese is harassing people because she doesn’t fit the stereotypical tomboy-dressed basketball players. She literally does nothing but have media attention and dress cute like a normal woman her age,” said one Reese fan.
‘I hope it’s a glitch and not that she’s been deactivated. But if she did, I respect that. You gotta do what you gotta do.”
“Or is she taking a (social media) break? She is strong and I don’t believe she will let her hatred be the reason to deactivate.”
“You guys really made Angel Reese deactivate her account because you bully this girl and over-sexualize everything.”

Reese’s debut WNBA season was cut short due to injury. However, she returns to the court as part of the new 3-on-3 unparalleled basketball league.
The 22-year-old was one of the WNBA’s best before the left wrist injury and combined with Clark during the WNBA All-Star game to defeat Olympic Team USA.
Reese has not made a statement about her disappearance from Instagram on any of her other social media.
