Ange Postecoglou takes issue with Tottenham fan after shock defeat by Ipswich with the Spurs boss stopping in is tracks to confront supporter as he leaves the field
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou appeared to argue with a Tottenham fan after his side’s shock 2-1 defeat to Ipswich.
Spurs’ inconsistent campaign continued on Sunday as they lost for the fifth time in 11 games this season, with Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap ensuring Ipswich won their first game since returning to the Premier League.
It was a result that did not go down well with those in north London, where full-time boos were heard and fans made their feelings known about the loss.
That included near the players’ tunnel, where fans gathered at the side of the exit as players and coaching staff, including Postecoglou, left the field.
The Australian did his best to ignore some of the comments coming his way, but he was seen stopping just before leaving the field of play, seemingly in defiance of something said in his direction.

Spurs have now lost five of their 11 Premier League games this season
In a video shared on social media, the Australian was seen deep in thought as he left the field after the whistle.
He was followed by several Tottenham players, including Djed Spence, and members of his coaching staff, such as Ryan Mason.
The 59-year-old was unimpressed by what was allegedly said during his walk until he almost left the field, where he stopped abruptly.
He could be seen looking up at the fans for a brief moment as other members of his coaching staff joined him and also stopped their walks back to the locker room. That only lasted a few seconds before he looked down again and walked further back.
He was also not in the best of moods when speaking to the media after the match, criticizing Ipswich’s apparent waste of time in the match.
“I think this is the way the Premier League is developing,” he said. “It’s quite strategic now. It’s funny: I always liked the Premier League because it wasn’t like that.
‘You saw teams playing in Europe and got frustrated, but now it’s part of the game here too. We can’t do anything about it.
“If we want to mitigate those things – because we don’t do it and we want the game to be played – then we shouldn’t give the opposition the opportunity to do that.”
The club is now tenth in the table and will face champions Man City after the international break

The result means that Tottenham are tenth in the Premier League after eleven games of the new season, with five wins, one draw and five defeats to their name.
They are still just three points off the top four, but some fans have become frustrated with inconsistent results and defensive issues.
Both Crystal Palace and Ipswich were near bottom of the league as they defeated Tottenham for their first wins of the season, while last week also saw a dominant 4-1 win over Aston Villa.
After the international break, Postecoglou’s team will take on champions Manchester City away from home.
