Ange Postecoglou offers Son Heung-min injury update after Tottenham skipper came off against Qarabag just three days ahead of Man United clash

Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Son Heung-min’s fitness after he was forced off in Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat to Qarabag in the Europa League.

The Spurs captain came off 20 minutes from time after Timo Werner received medical attention, moments after his shot was parried into the path of Dominic Solanke for the side’s third goal.

Tottenham play Manchester United on Sunday and with Richarlison and Wilson Odobert already out, Postecoglou does not need an extra body on the treatment table.

“So a 35-minute delay, delays warm-ups, delays all kinds of things, but you just have to deal with it and we have to deal with it better than what we did tonight.

‘We shot ourselves in the foot a bit and unfortunately Radu too [Dragusin] paid the ultimate price for it. But as a team we just didn’t start the match the way we wanted and the way we needed to, which made the game challenging for us.

“The response has been absolutely great, but disappointed that we had to be in that position.”
