Ange Postecoglou LOSES IT at his players in dismal first half against Chelsea… as Karen Carney says she’s never seen the Tottenham boss so frustrated on the touchline

Ange Postecoglou was left fuming at his Tottenham players after a dismal first-half performance against Chelsea.

After defeat in the North London derby last weekend, Tottenham were keen to respond in style against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

However, their poor start to the match was punished when Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring to put Chelsea ahead.

And in the 32nd minute, Postecoglou made his feelings known to his players when he lost his temper on the touchline.

He shouted: ‘stop passing it backwards’ as he pointed at Pape Matar Sarr and Cristian Romero.

And Karen Carney, who worked at Sky Sports, claimed she had never seen Postecoglou so frustrated

‘Evil Fear! To be honest, I have never seen him so angry and animated,” she said.

‘They kept coming into midfield and giving it away. It’s actually about Johnson and Son. They missed the ball and lose possession and give away this free kick that leads to the goal.”

Carney added: “Well, they keep playing in that midfield and keep losing the ball instead of giving your best players a 1-on-1. We haven’t seen enough of it and that front three with Kulusevski in the core has done nothing.”

Postecoglou finally made the changes shortly after the hour mark when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur came on for Sarr, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.

But the evening turned sour for Tottenham when Chelsea extended their lead after 72 minutes.

Cole Palmer hit a brilliant free-kick which hit the post before Nicolas Jackson headed in the rebound.
