Tottenham appoint Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach as chairman Daniel Levy continues to play tough on Harry Kane’s future.
Postecoglou has agreed to become Spurs’ new boss and just needs to complete the formalities of his appointment.
It is clear that the Australian will sign a deal for up to three years. An announcement confirming his arrival is expected to be made in the next 48 hours.
Mail Sport reported on Sunday that Tottenham would take a formal approach to Celtic with a view to discussing their managerial vacancy this week with Postecoglou.
Those talks have gained momentum with Postecoglou, who has a rolling 12-month contract with Parkhead and is now about to hand over the reins after the two clubs agreed the terms of his release.

Postecoglou won the Scottish domestic Treble on Saturday but looks likely to leave
Postecoglou, who captured the Scottish domestic Treble on Saturday, emerged as the main contender for the Tottenham head coaching job after their initial interest in Julian Naglesmann and Arne Slot fizzled out.
Luis Enrique and Fulham head coach Marco Silva were also going through the final stages of the recruitment process.
But Postecoglou has significant backing from within the Tottenham hierarchy and is now tasked with reviving a club that finished eighth in the Premier League last season and has been trophyless since 2008.
The 57-year-old faces a huge dilemma over star striker Kane, who enters the final 12 months of his contract.
Kane is wanted by Real Madrid and Manchester United this summer, but as it stands Levy is adamant he doesn’t want to sell the 29-year-old, despite the risk of losing him for nothing next year.

Nevertheless, Real and United remain poised to launch bids to sign Kane this summer, although Levy’s firm opposition to selling the England captain to a domestic rival puts the Spanish club in a better position to successfully secure the striker in to get.
However, there are doubts at Tottenham Hotspur whether Real will be able to come close to their minimum £100m valuation of Kane given their anticipated move to acquire Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham, 19, is expected to join the La Liga giants this summer, but will cost around £100 million.
And there is a feeling at Tottenham Hotspur that even if Levy were to soften his current stance later in the window, Madrid would be reluctant to spend a nine-figure sum for Kane.
Real will try to negotiate a lower fee for Kane, who is seen as the club’s number 1 striker following the departure of iconic figure Karim Benzema.

Well-placed sources have indicated that a deal of around £80 million, plus viable add-ons, could be enough to tempt Levy into selling to Real – but not until later in the transfer window.
Real Madrid also have a long-term interest in signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, a future transfer that could affect how much they are willing to pay for Kane.
Chelsea’s Kai Havertz and Romelu Lukaku have been discussed as candidates to fill the void left by Benzema if their interest in Kane fails.
