Andy Ruiz Jr claims his Twitter account was hacked after a post was shared claiming he ‘smokes weed all day’ and ‘buys prostitutes’ – and includes a photo of the former world champion on a drip

  • Ruiz took to Instagram to deny that it was he who published the post on his Twitter
  • His out-of-the-ring issues have been well documented for several years
  • He has not fought since September 2022, but has called up many heavyweights

Andy Ruiz Jr. has claimed his Twitter account was hacked after sharing a post referring to weed and prostitutes.

The post in question shared two videos and two photos — including one of the former world champion hooked up to an IV — purporting to reveal what Ruiz is up to in camp.

The post has since been deleted and the Mexican-American took to Instagram to insist his account had been hacked.

The 33-year-old was the center of attention after splitting with his wife, according to The sunthat he had been in a relationship with social media star Mayeli Alonso.

It is believed that Ruiz and his wife have been separated for some time, although his relationship with Alonso is said to have angered his ex-partner.

The post claimed that Ruiz “liked to smoke weed all day” and “buy prostitutes”

“I wanted to share with you what my life behind the camp is really like,” the Twitter post began. “I like to drink codeine and smoke weed all day long.

‘I also like to buy prostitutes. After this is going on, [I have] meetings to clean my blood to make sure I come out clean when VADA comes to my training camps.”

Ruiz also spoke of his own personal disappointment after losing to Anthony Joshua in 2019, admitting that after winning the original fight, he had not properly prepared for the fight.

It is unclear who allegedly hacked the account and why the posted words and images were shared.

Ruiz had recorded back-to-back wins since losing to Anthony Joshua (right) but hasn’t fought in eight months

In the ring, Ruiz has not fought since September 2022, when he defeated Luis Ortiz by unanimous decision.

He targeted a return and even made a fake fight deal poster to face Tyson Fury, forcing Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, to deny that a fight was agreed.

He asked for a rematch when he lost to Joshua, but never got it, as he thought he’s had back-to-back wins ever since.

Ruiz defeated Chris Arreola on points for his win over Ortiz, though it remains unclear who his next fight will be against.
