Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was featured on the latest episode of Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives this week and took the American chef to one of his favorite sandwich shops in the city.

Reid, who guided the Chiefs to a second straight Super Bowl last season, invited Fieri to Pigwich — a gourmet sandwich shop in a popular Kansas City butcher shop — for an episode of his Food Network show.

And the 66-year-old certainly rates it highly, saying at the start of the episode: ‘We’re going to a butcher shop that’s also the best sandwich shop you’ve ever eaten at. The real deal.’

Reid and Fieri – a restaurateur, author and Emmy-winning host and chef – then went into the kitchen to watch Alex Pope, chef and owner at Pigwich, open two enormous burgers, which both men got stuck in. to sit.

The Chiefs legend leaned over before taking a giant bite of his first burger as Fieri said, “Oh, he owns it!”

He was also joined at the restaurant that day by three staffers from Kansas City, who also sampled some of Pigwich’s best meats during the show.

Reid has a bunch of burgers tucked away on the Food Network amid plans for star duo Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce to name one after him at their new steakhouse in Kansas City.

Earlier this month, Kelce and Mahomes announced that they are teaming up again to launch ‘1587 Prime’ – a modern American steakhouse coming soon to the city.

And at the 101 Awards last weekend, Mahomes shed light on a very special addition to the menu.

“We’ll definitely eat the Andy Reid cheeseburger there,” Mahomes said. ‘That will certainly be on it.’

Reid has led Mahomes and Kelce to three Super Bowl victories in five seasons, with Kansas City becoming the first team to retain the Vince Lombardi Trophy since the New England Patriots in 2005.

The veteran coach, who also attended the 101 Awards on Saturday, shut down any talk of the Chiefs becoming a similar “dynasty” to the Patriots, vowing not to “get caught up in too much fluff.”

“It’s up to you to do the dynasty thing,” the 66-year-old told reporters this weekend via USA Today’s Safid Deen. “I’m back to training camp and that kind of meat and potatoes.

‘That’s where I’m going. I make sure the boys are back in shape. And that’s where we’ll roll…

“Every year in the NFL is a new year. Every team is a different team. Don’t get too caught up in the fluff.’
