Fans have hilariously warned Sir Andy Murray not to stay out in the rain during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics because they fear he will rust.
Murray shared a screenshot of a fan’s sage advice on his Instagram after uploading stories of himself waving the British flag as the British fleet sailed down the Seine in Paris.
Despite this, the Scot remained in a sunny mood as he prepared for his final tournament as a professional tennis player.
On Tuesday he announced that he was ending his successful career when he arrived in Paris to prepare for his fifth Olympic Games.

‘Competing in the British Championships was by far the most memorable week of my career and I’m incredibly proud to be doing it again.’
Novak Djokovic is the latest sporting hero to pay tribute to ‘legend’ Murray.
Djokovic said on Thursday: ‘I heard the news about Andy and I hope that in his last competitive match at the Olympics he gets the best possible farewell, for him and his country.
‘He is a legend in our sport and is an incredibly important player for tennis worldwide.

Djokovic also paid tribute to Rafa Nadal, who has also indicated that his career is coming to an end, and said he hopes to beat his old foe on court in the future.
“Nadal too, of course,” the Serb said. “Even more so all the results and achievements he has had, especially in this city, at Roland Garros.
‘Nadal hasn’t said when his last tournament will be, so hopefully he can continue for the sport.’
