Andy Cohen wants CNN to reverse ban on liquor policy so he and Anderson Cooper can drink during New Year’s Eve broadcast: ‘Give the daddies some juice’

Andy Cohen wants CNN to have him and his friend Anderson Cooper welcome the New Year with a toast with their favorite drink.

The media manager who just called Bravocon in Las Vegas told me E! News he would like the news channel to overturn the liquor ban.

“Hopefully I won’t do it secretly,” he told hosts Justin Sylvester and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton.

“I haven’t heard anything yet, but come on, they have to let us drink.” It’s New Year’s Eve.’

Referring to himself and the CNN host, who are both parents of two young children, he shouted, “Give the daddies some juice.”

The Watch What Happens Live host said the alcohol ban “didn’t go well last year in terms of viewers’ happiness about our drinking.”

“People really cared and I hope CNN gives people what they want.”

It may have been Andy’s own antics that led to the dry send-off.

As he and Anderson welcomed 2022, Bravolebrity went viral after delivering an apparent booze-fueled tirade critical of former New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, whose term was coming to an end.

A tipsy Andy also joked on ABC’s rival show, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, with Ryan Seacrest telling viewers, “If you look back, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers performing.” I’m sorry, but when you watch ABC, you’re watching nothing.’

Viral rant: Andy’s own actions may have led to the liquor ban. During the countdown to 2022, he went on an apparent booze-fueled tirade that included criticism of former New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, whose term was coming to an end.

Criticism: A tipsy Andy also participated in the broadcast of ABC’s rival show, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. He later apologized for some of his comments

The reality show creator explained his comments on social media, telling fans, “I was served a hair too much last night, but man did I have fun!” I hope you did too.’

He later apologized for some of his drunken comments.

“The only thing I regret, the only thing I said, is that I turned down the ABC broadcast and I really love Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy,” he said in his speech a few days after the incident SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live.

“I really regret saying that, and I was just stupid and drunk and felt it.”

As they rang in 2023, Andy and Anderson toasted the new year with pickle juice.

Comedian Kevin Hart, who was a guest on the show last year, was not a fan of the new edict.

Unhappy: Guest Kevin Hart was unhappy with the no alcohol rule during the 2022/2023 broadcast. I’m going to try, because you’ve been fooled!’ he told them. CNN has not commented on Andy’s request

‘I don’t like it at all. I’m going to say what you want to say. …I’m going to do what you can’t do. I’m going to try, because you’ve been fooled!’

“Kevin, bless you,” Andy said to the actor. ‘Thanks for that. We appreciate your anger. You are a vessel for us.”

Former CNN CEO Chris Licht, who created the alcohol ban rule, has been replaced by Mark Thompson, formerly of the BBC and The New York Times.

The network did not comment on whether it plans to reverse the policy.
