Andy Cohen makes shock RHONJ cast announcement amid reports Teresa Giudice and Jennifer Aydin will return

Andy Cohen has fired back at spreading rumors about the future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

The 56-year-old Bravo executive insisted that no official decisions had been made about the show, before shutting down reports that Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin and Dolores Catania would all return.

“We have not made a decision on the Real Housewives of New Jersey,” he said on his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.

Cohen was also completely stunned when he found out that Aydin had announced on Instagram that she would return to the series next season.

“Has she confirmed she’s coming back?” he gasped, sounding completely bewildered.

Cohen quickly shut Aydin down, but then let slip that Bravo had done “a lot” of behind-the-scenes work for the new cast, but suggested Aydin wasn’t part of those discussions.

“I wish her the best…Wait until Bravo or I say something, how about that?” he added.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently in the middle of a reboot, which will likely see many of the show’s current stars replaced with new faces.

Sources connected to the series recently debunked rumors that original franchise villain Danielle Staub could return for a new season, telling TMZ that the show wants to “move forward, not backward.”

While production is still “months away” from making final casting decisions, they are reportedly looking for a more “positive” and “loving” group of women to replace the toxic drama that has plagued the series for years.

Bravo currently has RHONJ “on ice” as they figure out what to do with the series after a controversial 14th season that saw the cast completely split into two teams.

“Decisions on what will or won’t happen with the show won’t be made until early next year,” a source told DailyMail.com in August.

‘There will be no more filming of RHONJ for the rest of the year. Nothing is planned. It’s on ice.’

The current cast includes Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin, Dolores Catania, Melissa Gorga, Margaret Josephs, Danielle Cabral and Rachel Fuda, as well as friends Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Fessler.

“Everyone is waiting to find out what’s going to happen,” the source shared, adding that rumors that some of the cast is already being fired “are not true.”

The cast for the new season will not be announced anytime soon.

“Casting is not something Bravo is rushing into. It won’t take shape until next year.’

The insider added, “However, there are some cast members who are less likely to return than others based on certain events that transpired this past season. But for two or three cast members, it could be over for good.”

When asked for a reason why everything was on hold, the source said, “I think they don’t know what to do.”

“They don’t know what to do because it’s almost like a puzzle where you’re trying to put pieces together that make sense,” they continued.

“And there are very few pieces of this puzzle that make sense to viewers at this point.”

Meanwhile, a second source revealed to DailyMail.com that Cohen is “not ruling anything out” when it comes to the future.

“It could be a cast shakeup with only some cast members coming back, it could be a reboot, or RHONJ could be canceled altogether — nothing is off the table,” the insider said.

“Bravo has not set a timeline for when filming will resume because literally no one knows what will happen and it will take time to figure out next steps.”
