Nine-cap England international Andy Carroll is reportedly leaving Ligue 2 club Amiens for a French fourth division club.
Carroll signed for Amiens after invoking a release clause in his contract to leave Reading in August last year.
However, Carroll managed just four goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for Amiens last season and will have to make do with just one start in the 2024-25 Ligue 2 season.
According to The teamIt looks like the 35-year-old is back on the road.
According to L’Equipe, Carroll is moving to Bordeaux, who were relegated to the fourth French tier after going bankrupt in August and being placed under financial supervision.
Andy Carroll is set to join the eighth different club of his career, according to L’Equipe

The report also claims that it was Amiens sporting director John Williams who played a key role in convincing Carroll to move to Bordeaux.
Although Williams still plays his part at Amiens, he is said to have been involved in helping Bordeaux put together a new squad.
Carroll’s planned spell at Bordeaux would be the eighth club he has played for in his entire career.
The striker came through the ranks at Newcastle United and made his Premier League debut in the 2006–07 season.
Carroll’s impressive form with the Magpies earned him a move to Liverpool in 2011, but he was unable to repeat his performances at Anfield.
The Reds sold him to West Ham United in the summer of 2012, but his career only really came to an end when he returned to Newcastle in 2019.
He then played for Reading and West Bromwich Albion before joining Amiens in 2023.
However, Bordeaux could prove to be one of his biggest challenges in football given their recent problems.
Bordeaux were relegated to the fourth division in the summer due to further financial problems
France’s fifth most successful club has had a few bad years due to financial turmoil
Bordeaux are now no longer a professional club and were forced to close their training complex
Despite being the sixth most successful club in French football, Bordeaux were hit by years of financial mismanagement and ownership problems in the summer.
Liverpool’s owner Fenway Sports Group (FSG) abandoned a potential takeover, forcing Bordeaux to accept administrative demotion.
This forced the club to give up its professional status and close its training complex indefinitely, as all players’ contracts were terminated.
Bordeaux first went into administration in 2021 after American owners King Street said they would no longer support the club financially due to falling revenues as a result of the Covid pandemic and the bankruptcy of TV rights holder Mediapro.
Businessman Gerard Lopez bought the club from King Street, but financial problems persisted and Bordeaux were relegated for the first time in 30 years in his first season at the club.
