Andros Townsend is training at his former club Tottenham to maintain fitness levels as he searches for a new team following Everton exit and collapse of Burnley move
Former England international Andros Townsend is training at Tottenham and returns to the club he left in 2016.
Townsend is a free agent after leaving Everton in the summer and having a spell at Burnley, who decided not to offer the 32-year-old a contract.
Mail Sport understands that Tottenham have opened the door to their state-of-the-art headquarters in Enfield for Townsend, who came through their academy after joining as an eight-year-old.
For now, Townsend is training with a view to maintaining his fitness as he pursues a return to professional football, and there is no indication that head coach Ange Postecoglou is even considering signing him.
It is understood he is not involved in the first team training.

Nevertheless, Townsend’s training spell at Spurs marks an emotional return to the club he has such an affinity with.
Townsend grew up as a Tottenham supporter and eventually played 93 games for the club, scoring 11 goals.
He became an England international during his time at Tottenham and was included in the national team in September 2013.
Townsend left Spurs in 2016 for Crystal Palace, where he made 185 appearances before joining Everton in 2021.
But the striker has now come full circle and is back in Tottenham training looking to take the next step in his career.
