Android 15 looks set to help you clean up your notifications for good
For years, Android and iOS have struggled to help you stay on top of your phone’s notifications. But it looks like Android 15 is coming with some new features that might finally help you keep those notifications under control for good.
According to Android AuthorityThe latest beta version of Android 15, which is currently in testing, will not show notifications that are older than two weeks. That could be a problem for people who jump between Android phones and tablets.
Another improvement in the Android 15 beta, also noticed by Android Authoritysuggests that notification syncing across devices could also be improved, so that new notifications don’t necessarily appear on all of your Android devices.
All in all, this should mean you’ll spend less time going through notifications you shouldn’t be looking at, whether they were sent to you weeks ago or because you already viewed them on another device.

It looks like Google engineers are working on making notifications less intrusive on the screen. This should improve the experience when you’re playing a game or watching a movie and notification pop-ups come in.
As always with beta testing, there’s no guarantee that these features will make it into the final version of Android 15. However, there’s a good chance that they will, and they may be further refined before they’re released to the general public.
A fixed version of Android 15 is already available for developers, but several hardware manufacturers have yet to tweak it: Google for Pixel phones, Samsung for Galaxy phones, OnePlus for its phones, and so on.
Google Pixel devices like the Google Pixel 9 will be first in line to get Android 15, with an October launch seeming very likely. If you’re using another type of Android phone, you might have to wait a few more months to get it.
