The social media influencer made the claim online before penning a bizarre Tweet to his fans that read “the answer is looking for you.”

Tate along with his brother Tristan were arrested earlier this week at their luxury compound in Bucharest as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of rape and human trafficking.

Tate has taken to Twitter in the past 24 hours to post a series of bizarre tweets, including one blaming “the insanity of the ruling elite” for his arrest.

It came a day after he had a high-profile Twitter spat with young climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Police are investigating claims that Tate and his brother, along with two Romanian women, were allegedly holding six women under “24/7 house arrest as prisoners.”

Prosecutors say the brothers allegedly recruited the women on social media platforms and convinced them to travel to their secret £600,000 hideout in Bucharest by falsely professing love for them.

Romanian authorities and the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism said the alleged victims were coerced into making pornography through “physical violence and mental coercion.”

The suspects are accused of posting the pornographic material online, on sites such as adult-only content platform OnlyFans or video-sharing app TikTok, which then reaped “substantial financial benefits”.

Investigators also claim that one of the suspects raped a victim on two separate occasions in March 2022.

“We have information based on what they said on social networks, that one of the girls earned up to 50,000 euros a month,” a source close to the investigation told the Mail.

They did not give them money from what they earned.

The victims were allegedly transported to buildings in Ilfov county on the outskirts of Bucharest, where they were “sexually exploited” and forced to make these videos, a police statement said.

Police are investigating claims that Tate (pictured) and his brother, along with two Romanian women, were allegedly keeping six women under “24/7 house arrest as prisoners.”

It has been claimed that the gang would use the ‘boy lover’ method to recruit women, pretending to want to ‘marry/cohabit’ and express ‘genuine feelings of love’.

Tate’s initial detention period has been extended from 24 hours to 30 days, but his lawyer Eugen Constantin Vidineac is appealing the judge’s decision.

He said: ‘From our perspective, there is no reason… to take this drastic preventive measure.’

The brothers hold dual US and UK citizenship, born to an American father and a British mother.

They grew up in both countries.
