The footy siblings have been in little touch after a heated debate on air ahead of the State of Origin series opener – now Andrew says he’ll have lunch with Matt
“Just because you played four games and lost all four doesn’t mean you don’t have to swallow NSW.”
Now Andrew has revealed that the pair will smoke the peace pipe and plan to spend lunch together.
Appearing on 2GB, Andrew told host Ben Fordham that the pair are going to work on their relationship – but they won’t be taking over Brad Fittler’s job as Blues coach any time soon.
“That won’t happen,” Johns said.
“But we’ll have lunch for the next few days.
“I called him and said I’ll talk to you after Origin.”
Matthew has said on his podcast, along with sons Cooper and Jack, that Andrew was ready to strike out the next time their paths cross.
“I just learned through the grapevine that he has actually been telling people that the next time he sees me he will take my head off,” said Matthew.

“Well, I just hope he’s learned to fight unlike the last time we talked about it. No, I haven’t heard from him.’
While Andrew has not spoken to Matthew, he does keep in touch with his brother’s NRL player’s sons, Cooper and Jack.
“I’m talking to him,” Jack said on the podcast.
“He and I are very close.”
Matty replied, “So you trade to the other side, huh, Judas?”
“Well, why don’t you all just join in and kick me like your goddamn uncle, okay?
Do you think if NSW Origin wins Joey will call me and bury the hatchet?
“Or do you think he will carry on this grudge forever? Because I hope he lasts forever.’
