Andrew Garfield questions whether romances with co-stars can really work as he enjoys flirty interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg – days after his split with Kate Tomas was revealed

Andrew Garfield has wondered whether romances with co-stars can really work.

The actor, 41, who has dated and been linked to a string of high-profile women, debated the longevity of committed relationships as he sat down for a very flirty Chicken Shop interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg.

During the highly anticipated chat, The Amazing Spider-Man star asked if the host was actually hoping to find “the one” during the interview series, which is presented as dates at a local chicken shop.

Responding to the movie star – who recently split from his girlfriend – Amelia, 30, said: ‘Yes. Don’t you think so?’, before adding: ‘But isn’t it just like meeting someone at work, except I have [my work] on a date?’

Amelia then switched things up and referenced Andrew’s workplace, the entertainment industry, with the actor then casting doubt on workplace romances as he asked: ‘Yes, exactly. And how many of those relationships succeed?’

The movie star’s romance with ethically non-monogamous, professional witch Kate Tomas was recently revealed [pictured together at Wimbledon in July]

After being pressed for an answer of his own, Andrew suggested that dating one’s co-star rarely results in a long-term relationship, as he shared, “I mean, it’s usually like a flash in the pan.”

Andrew is said to have previously romanced actress Shannon Woodward, actress Susie Abromeit, singer Rita Ora, model Christine Gabel and model Alyssa Miller.

Meanwhile, his most famous relationship was with two-time Oscar winner Emma Stone, 35, who he dated for almost four years before splitting for good in 2015.

Andrew’s relationship talk comes after he quietly ended his romance with ethically non-monogamous, professional witch Kate Tomas.

The 42-year-old spiritual mentor revealed that she and the LA-born Brit – who were last spotted at Wimbledon in London on July 14 – had split ‘months ago’.

Kate confirmed the end of their relationship in the Instagram comments on a post about her latest guided meditation from last week.

While responding to Instagram user @felipe.reisvares, Kate wrote: “We broke up months ago but I’m sure he’ll be happy to know he’s loved.”

Meanwhile, she hit back at another Instagram user who suggested she talked too much about the Hollywood hunk.

In response to Instagram user @xoxstellz who told her to “stop talking about Andrew” because he never talked about her, she scoffed, “Honey, the only people who ever talk about a man or make him the center of my life, work, business and social media are women like you.”

The four-time divorcee – whose clients include Lena Dunham and Megan Mullally – had spoken publicly about her relationship with Garfield. The Sunday times as well as on her podcast where she denied using magic spells to seduce him.

“It’s not about the magic spells or manipulation,” Kate said.

‘It has nothing to do with how perfect their teeth are – thank you, Reddit – or whether they conform to conventional beauty standards. People who are truly attractive are full of charisma because they are authentically themselves and are confidently anchored in that. Magic takes time. It can’t happen overnight.’

It’s unclear how long Tomas dated the two-time Oscar nominee, but they were first pictured on a double date with Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham at Zinqué Malibu on March 31.

A source said this earlier American weekly on their romance: ‘It’s quite new between Andrew and Kate, but she’s down to earth and he feels very comfortable with her. Andrew really appreciates that Kate is very different from the other women he dates. He thinks she has a great sense of humor and is easy to talk to.”

The Amazing Spider-Man star previously vowed never to talk about his love life.

In 2021 he said Rush that he actively strives to keep his private life private.

He said: ‘I’m not in the public eye because I designed it that way for myself. I’m fine with it for my work, but otherwise I fight for my right to a private personal life. My right to just be. My right to be a mess. My right to be sad. My right to lose, to do it wrong, to be stupid, to be human.’
