Andrew Flintoff has reportedly stepped down from his role as coach of England’s white-ball teams after less than six months in the job.
Former England captain Flintoff joined the squad in March in preparation for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
England reached the semi-finals of that tournament, but it was not a satisfying season. They were beaten by India and Australia, among others, and lost the match in Barbados, which was unfortunately swept away by Scotland.
According to The TelegraphFlintoff could not connect with Jos Buttler, the current England captain for T20 and ODI matches.
Flintoff will therefore apparently not be part of the England coaching team for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia.
It is understood that stand-in coach Marcus Trescothick will instead be given the chance to assemble his own technical team.
