The problems dealing with Andre Onana continued as Man United’s players returned home after their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, with the goalkeeper pictured dropping his car keys.

Onana was responsible for the opening goal of Man United’s 4-3 defeat to the German champions after letting Leroy Sane’s weak shot slip through his grasp.

The goalkeeper has been praised for his response to the setback after requesting post-match television interviews to acknowledge the mistake.

“It’s a difficult situation for me, I let the team down. It is thanks to me that we did not win this match,” said Onana, who joined Man United for £47.2 million this summer.

‘We started very well and after my mistake we lost control of the match. I still have a lot to prove (to the fans). My start hasn’t been that good, not the way I wanted.’
