Andre Onana has arrived at Milan airport as he prepares to board his flight to England and complete his move to Manchester United.
The shot-stopper will be Erik ten Hag’s second signing this summer after Inter agreed to sell the Cameroonian goalkeeper in a deal worth up to £47.1 million.
United will pay an initial fee of £43.7m plus possibly a further £3.4m in add-ons for Onana, who will sign a five-year contract with the option of a 12-month extension.
The 27-year-old will fly to Birmingham airport and stay overnight before heading to United’s Carrington training complex on Wednesday to complete his medical.
Onana has already agreed personal terms with the club and will be announced as United’s new number one once he has successfully passed all pre-transfer checks.

Onana enjoyed a quiet departure as he arrived at Milan airport in a black Mercedes van and was seen with a small entourage.
Some Italian football fans seemed to be expecting the Cameroonian and asked for photos – which Onana obliged – before the player drove into the airport.
He was dressed in a white t-shirt and white track pants as he appears to be comfortable aboard the two hour and 10 minute flight to the Midlands.
Onana also wore a dazzling Rolex as cameras followed him through the airport before disappearing in the departures area in what appears to be a private terminal.
His arrival at Manchester comes after Erik ten Hag wanted a new number 1 to replace David de Gea after deciding he wanted a goalkeeper who is more comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Onana is a specialist in that regard and has built a reputation as a sweeper keeper who likes to get out of his box to connect the game.
He will be United’s second signing this summer after Mason Mount left Chelsea on a £60 million deal.
Ten Hag will be delighted to get two of his key transfer targets through the door so early in pre-season so they can begin to integrate with the rest of the squad on the four-game tour of the US.

The Inter Milan goalkeeper was signed for his excellent passing and cunning footwork
The 27-year-old, who graduated from Barcelona’s academy before joining Ajax, joined San Siro on a free transfer last summer following a nine-month doping ban.
According to Ajax, he tested positive for the banned substance furosemide.
Last season, Onana made 41 appearances in all competitions for the Italian giants and helped them win the Italian Cup, keeping 19 clean sheets in all competitions.
He also played in Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League final last month.
