Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said the people of the state have given the NDA alliance the responsibility of putting the house in order and highlighted the key areas on which the state government will focus in the next five years.

Naidu in his address to the 16th Legislative Assembly said, “Building a capital city, completing Polavaram project, inter-connecting rivers and attracting investments are some of the issues that the government will focus on in the next five years need to concentrate on.”

He targeted the previous YSRCP dispensation and alleged that it had turned the House of Representatives into a disrespectful assembly.

In the past five years, the Holy Assembly has turned into a place for evil politics, personal attacks, a stage for character assassination. There was abuse, mocking, gagging without letting the microphone (microphone) speak… there were a lot of problems, he claimed. .

He recalled the alleged offensive comments against his family by YSRCP legislators and how he promised to return to the House only as CM.

Naidu thanked the people of the state for saving his respect and promised to run the House in a respectable manner.

Followed by Naidu, a large number of other members addressed the House.

Later, Chairman C thanked Ayyannapatrudu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, BJP leaders and all the legislators who unanimously elected him.

Ayyannapatrudu assured that the members would be able to raise important issues in the House of Representatives.

Later, the Speaker adjourned the two-day session sine die.

Earlier in the day, TDP MLA Ayyannapatrudu was unanimously elected as the chairman of the meeting.

Ayyannapatrudu’s election was just a formality as no other MLA filed a nomination to challenge him.

Only three nominations were received for the post of speaker on Friday, and all were on behalf of Ayyannapatrudu, said PPK Ramacharyulu, secretary general of the Legislative Assembly.

Chief Minister Naidu and others escorted Ayyannapatrudu to the Speaker’s seat.

After taking over the gavel, Ayyannapatrudu requested Naidu to speak.

In his inaugural address, Naidu congratulated the Speaker and praised him, saying Ayyannapatrudu is one of the oldest legislators in the Telugu states.

“It is very happy to see a recognized BC leader like you (Ayyannapatrudu) in the position of Chairman. My sincere congratulations to you for being unanimously elected chairman,” he added.

The second day of the first session of the 16th Legislative Assembly began at 10:30 am.

Three newly elected lawmakers who had not yet taken the oath of office on Friday completed the formalities today.

On Friday, 172 MLAs were sworn in.
