On Saturday, the teams will compete in Düsseldorf for a place in the last four.
Southgate has a number of selection decisions to make before the match, with his team having been heavily criticised by fans and pundits for their performances in the tournament so far.
Southgate’s decision to play Phil Foden – who has been largely ineffective – has been questioned, while Kieran Trippier’s performances have also attracted negative attention.
Promising central defensive duo John Stones and Marc Guehi will be out of the game against the Swiss. The Crystal Palace defender has been suspended for the match after receiving his second yellow card in the competition.
