Ana de Armas living ‘off the grid’ in rural $7M Vermont home she moved to after whirlwind Ben Affleck romance to get ‘away from the craziness’

Ana de Armas said she’s happier than ever since moving to a rural area in Vermont, where she quietly bought a $7 million home last year.

As she contemplated leaving Hollywood for a quieter life, the 36-year-old actress raved about the feeling of living “off the grid.” E! Newsthree years after the end of her nearly year-long relationship with Ben Affleck, which ended in 2021.

“I feel like we all want to get away from the madness of the world these days,” she explained at the premiere of her new film, Eden, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

She continued, “We all want to have the opportunity to create your own safe space. I made that decision myself.”

The Oscar nominee then confirmed that she has “found a home” where she feels far away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood life.

“I can just pack myself in and take only the people I want to take. I have my little cocoon there,” she said of her sprawling six-bedroom home, complete with eight bathrooms, a swimming pool, mountain views and open pastures.

As for what inspired her to leave Los Angeles, the Blonde star said: “You just feel it when it’s time to make a change. Take care of yourself. There comes a point where you learn what’s good for you and what’s not. What serves you the most? Pay attention to that and take action.”

The Cuban-born woman previously lived in Venice, California, but put her home up for sale in 2020 while still in a relationship with Affleck after they were relentlessly harassed by paparazzi.

During their whirlwind romance, she also lived for a time in his $20 million mansion in Pacific Palisades.

In 2022, the Golden Globe nominee, who is now in a relationship with Tinder VP Paul Boukadakis, said She that privacy concerns were “one of the reasons” she left Los Angeles for New York City.

The performer continued, “It just got a little too much. There’s no escape. There’s no way out. It’s always this feeling of something you don’t have, something you’re missing. It’s a city that keeps you anxious.”

Affleck and de Armas’ romance began when they met while working on the “erotic thriller” Deep Water in 2019, but they didn’t start dating until early 2020.

At the time of their split, multiple sources confirmed to People that a major factor in their decision to part ways was her desire to move to Los Angeles, as Ben needed to stay there for his children.

“Ben is no longer in a relationship with Ana,” the source told the publication. “She broke up with him. Their relationship was complicated. Ana doesn’t want to live in Los Angeles and Ben obviously has to, since his kids live in Los Angeles.”

Another insider told the publication: “They’re at different stages in their lives; there’s a deep love and respect. Ben still wants to work on himself. He’s got three jobs lined up and he’s a solid dad at home. They’re both happy with where they’re at in their lives.”

Additionally, Us Weekly quotes a source who revealed, “Ben and Ana had been moving in different directions in their lives and had stopped seeing each other. The two couldn’t work through their differences and have decided to end their relationship.”

During their relationship, the former partners traveled the world, from Cuba to Costa Rica.

They spent much of 2020 inseparable, enjoying walks around LA with their dogs and casual outings for coffee.

Ana made their relationship official on Instagram in April, when she shared snaps of the couple together on her 32nd birthday.

During their relationship, the actor introduced Ana to his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Sources told People at the time, “Ana seems to love being around his kids. Everyone gets along great. Ana makes an effort to get to know his kid.”

Affleck is currently in the midst of a divorce from superstar Jennifer Lopez, who filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary.

Ben was married to Jennifer from 2005 to 2018 and they have built a solid co-parenting relationship over the years, with the actress also supporting Ben in his sobriety.

Before Boukadakis and Affleck, she dated Alejandro Piñeiro Bello, Franklin Latt and Marc Clotet.
