An infant died after being forgotten in the back seat of a hot car, Louisiana authorities say
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Authorities in Louisiana say a 6-month-old baby died after a parent left him in the backseat of a hot car. The parent was on his way to work and didn’t realize he had left the baby alone all day.
Baton Rouge sheriff’s officials told news outlets that a parent of the child left home Tuesday morning with the intention of dropping the baby off at daycare before work. Deputies said the parent worked through the day and didn’t realize until they went to pick up the baby from daycare that evening that the child had been in the car all day.
No other details were released. Deputies said this would happen before possible charges were considered.
