A brief exchange of fire was reported along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, official sources said.

The firing from across the border was reported late on Friday night at an Indian forward post in the Krishna Ghati sector, triggering retaliation by army troops guarding the LoC, the sources said.

They said there were no casualties in the shooting, which lasted only a short period of time.

The vigil has been intensified to ensure that there is no infiltration of terrorists in this side, the sources said, adding that a search operation is underway in the area.
