- Crack open the ‘Bolly’ for the car famously stuck outside Harvey Nicholls
- 1993 Alfa Romeo Spider starred in the hilarious 1990s sitcom Absolutely Fabulous
- With 46,326 miles on the odometer, it’s headed to a classic car auction in August
A sports car that featured in an episode of the much-loved sitcom Absolutely Fabulous is set to go under the hammer, with experts predicting it could fetch up to £30,000.
The Alfa Romeo convertible was used by Jennifer Saunders’ character Edina in an episode where she is forced to downsize and give up her chauffeur-driven car. Instead, she buys the red Italian roadster because it was “the smallest car she could find.”
Along with her best friend Patsy Stone, played by Joanna Lumley, Edina wreaks havoc in the Alfa Romeo as they drive drunk through the streets of trendy West London on their way to the supermarket.
The car gets stuck when they park on the sidewalk in the 1994 episode, right in front of Harvey Nichols.
The car is now for sale with a guide price of £30,000, 30 years after the episode first aired.

The Alfa Romeo Spider was owned at the time by a marketing agency that loaned it to the BBC for filming.
Since then it has had three previous owners, including the seller who purchased it in 2015.
The car, which has a 2.0-liter engine and has only 46,000 miles on the clock, is heading to the block at Iconics Auctioneers’ auction at Silverstone Festival on August 24.
Arwel Richards, classic car specialist at Iconics, said: ‘There are very few TV comedies where a specific car plays a role in the plot. They are often used as props to enhance a character’s image.
