Amy Shark performs at AFLW awards in Melbourne after mystery illness

Amy Shark was forced to cancel her North American tour in August after being hospitalized with a mysterious illness.

And on Monday, the 37-year-old appeared to be well and truly on the mend as she performed at the W Awards at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium.

The singer looked cheerful as she played her guitar while performing her popular songs.

She wore a navy blue skirt and a yellow long-sleeved shirt under a black T-shirt as she took the stage.

Amy tied half of her brunette locks into a bun and wore a neutral makeup palette for the show.

In August, the Australian singer underwent surgery after being hospitalized with a mystery illness.

Amy announced the news on Instagram at the time, explaining that she had experienced “uncomfortable and painful moments.”

She assured fans that she is doing “totally well” despite the news, and said she was “so sad” she had to cancel her US tour dates.

Amy added that she would take a month off to recover from the surgery.

“Over the past few days I have been having some very uncomfortable painful moments and just found out that I need surgery ASAP,” Amy’s post read along with a photo of herself in a blue hospital gown.

“I choose to keep the details private, but I’m totally fine DW. I need a month to recover, which means I have to cancel the North American tour next month.”

She added: “I’m so sad right now. I’m really sorry, but I have to focus on my health for a month. I hope you understand and I promise I’ll be back as soon as I recover. Lots of love from sad Amy.”

Amy received a number of well wishes from fans under her post and comments from fellow artists.
