Amy Schumer’s Netflix special contains a joke about Alec Baldwin’s filming on ‘Rust’ being banned by the Oscars

Amy Schumer didn’t make a fist in her new Netflix special “Emergency Contact,” including the ones her lawyers and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have explicitly told her to pull.

The 42-year-old comedian gives an extensive account of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin in the hour-long special, in which she makes several jokes about the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust,” in which Alec was involved.

In a joke banned by the Oscars two years ago, when Schumer acted as one of the hosts, the comedian said, “Don’t Look Up” is the name of a movie? More like not looking down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun.

“I wasn’t allowed to say anything about that, but you can just come up and [slap] someone,” she said, referring to the infamous moment when Will Smith stomped onstage and punched Chris Rock in the face.

Schumer, who previously mocked Hilaria on Instagram for some quirky, attention-seeking behavior, laid out the baldwins in her new hour-long special on Netflix

To the toddlers: Hilaria Baldwin’s Wednesday morning scene herding two of her seven children in New York City

On Wednesday, the day after Schumer’s special was released on Netflix, Hilaria Baldwin was spotted in New York City with two of her young children in tow.

Baldwin, a mother of seven, looked ready for summer, dressed in jean shorts, a tank top and flip flops. Her hair looked lighter for the warmer months and she wore oversized sunglasses.

She looked like she was having a hard time arguing with both kids at once. One of them was tied to her chest and the other first walked next to her mother, but was eventually picked up and carried by Hilaria.

Alec and Hilaria share seven children – Carmen, nine; Raphael, seven; Leonardo, six; Romeo, five; Mary, two; Edward, two; and Ilaria, eight months — while Baldwin also shares his eldest daughter, 27-year-old Ireland Baldwin, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Aside from Rust’s shooting joke, Schumer spends several minutes in her special monologue about Hilaria and her questionable relationship to her Hispanic heritage.

In 2021, when it emerged that the former yoga teacher had been telling stories about her Hispanic heritage for years, Schumer mocked the semi-scandal by posting a photo of herself in a beachy look, writing, “I get it. I’ve been to Spain a few times.’

Schumer had previously made fun of a lingerie-clad, nearly naked photo Baldwin posted to her Instagram as she cradled her newborn.

Schumer shared the image of Baldwin, her child Edu, joking that it was a photo of herself and her then-newborn son Gene.

Ultimately, Schumer deleted both posts because she “didn’t want to be mean,” but admitted she found the scandal ridiculous.

Waiting for her time to strike, Schumer told her audience in “Emergency Contact” that she met Hilaria “years ago” backstage at SNL, where she told her she was “from España,” (with) a very thick Spanish emphasis. ‘

She continued to make fun of the couple, saying, “They have a bunch of Von Trapp kids, and they named them all—I’m not sure, but very Spanish names like Jamón, Croqueta, and Flamenco.”

“And this would all be fine and beautiful, except that ‘Hilaria from España’ is actually Hillary from Boston. This woman is not Hispanic in any way. Her parents are not from Spain. No one in her life is from Spain. You go, ‘What?!’ Did you think I was just making a really racist Hispanic impression?

“So I’m not trying to bully a sociopath. I have a point, okay? I think what happened was she went to Spain. And I was lucky enough to go to Spain. Some of you have been. It’s great, right? Don’t you love it? I loved it too. But Hillary from Boston… loved it!”

“My point is that all the evidence indicates that this woman, ever since she met her husband, has been straight up pretending to be from Spain. And her husband shot someone… find someone you like.”

On blast: Schumer, 42, who famously trolled yoga teacher Baldwin in 2021 after it emerged the latter lied for years about her Hispanic heritage, shot the star about her “Von Trapp number of kids” (Hilaria pictured with son Edu in 2020)

The original controversy erupted after a viral Twitter thread that made allegations about how Hilaria had been misrepresenting her background for years.

The tweets, posted by an anonymous user, began with, “You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s dedication to her decade-long struggle posing as a Hispanic.”

It was liked 20,000 times and led to dozens of people finding examples of Baldwin with a Hispanic accent, a shocking contrast to her childhood in Boston, where she was known as Hillary and considered white by her classmates.

Several videos from Hilaria’s past TV appearances resurfaced showing her commitment to a Spanish accent, including a Today show segment where she seemingly forgot the English word for “cucumber.”

A number of Hilaria’s former classmates also came forward to confirm that she was, in fact, raised in Weston, Massachusetts, by professor parents – and had no Hispanic accent throughout her childhood and teens.

“I went to high school with her. Really sweet person, I remember, but completely white girl from Cambridge,” one wrote.

Brood: Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are parents of seven children – Alec is also father to daughter Ireland with Kim Basinger

The release of the special and the criticism of the Baldwins comes just weeks after Alec Baldwin reached a settlement with the son of Halyna Hutchins – the cameraman who was shot dead on the set of Rust.

She died when a Colt .45 pistol was accidentally loaded with a live bullet in October 2021 and apparently shot at her by the actor.

Baldwin has consistently maintained that he never pulled the trigger on the gun, which should not have contained live ammunition at any point during production.

In April, New Mexico prosecutors dropped the involuntary manslaughter charges filed against Baldwin.

The charges were stayed after a new prosecutor reviewed evidence showing the gun could have fired without the trigger being pulled, according to The New York Times.
