Amy Robach and TJ Holmes have opened up about their “difficult” relationship issues, admitting they put their romance “on the back burner” two years after their scandalous affair sent shockwaves through ABC.

The former Good Morning America host, 51, was exposed by DailyMail.com for his affair with 46-year-old co-host TJ in 2022.

Since then, the couple has been embroiled in a heated controversy over their relationship, which led to them being fired from ABC and splitting with their partners.

Now the lovebirds reveal that their candid and compassionate love affair hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing.

During a recent episode of their podcast, Amy and TJthey confessed that there had been trouble in paradise lately, as they had been putting their romance second.

The couple said they had forgotten about their own relationship because they were so focused on their work.

Amy explained: ‘We’re together all the time, but we were either with the kids or we were working, and we worked a lot, which is great – we love working. But we didn’t get any, like, us time.

“We work together and have a relationship. We were friends and colleagues first. It’s strange that you have a working relationship and a love relationship, but the two don’t really go together.”

Her lover shared her opinion and admitted that they did not see each other as a priority.

“We’re maybe in an autopilot relationship, the relationship becomes secondary. We’ve stopped making our relationship a priority, I think it’s fair to say,” he added.

The couple admitted that their first day alone after their romance came out was “not great.”

Amy said, “I think sometimes everything that’s built up and not been said, just because you haven’t had the time alone to really connect, comes out in some way. So the first day was a little bit rough, but now it’s going well.”

TJ joked, “Ha, a little rough. It was rockier than the ocean waves.”

During a recent episode of their podcast, Amy & TJ, they confessed that there’s been trouble in paradise lately, as they’ve made their romance “secondary.”

The lovebirds revealed that they booked a romantic getaway to rekindle their love, but it only led to more frustration.

Amy said she booked the tickets and accidentally entered her boyfriend’s date of birth as 1997 instead of 1977, causing him to be blocked by the TSA.

She explained, “I obviously made the reservation, so it was entirely my fault. So not only did I rob you of the TSA pre-check, I also got us flagged — or you flagged — because I put in your birth year incorrectly.”

While trying to help, Amy admitted she made the situation “worse” by interrupting her friend’s conversations with security.

TJ added: ‘There’s nothing to be upset about, I know you felt bad about it. There was no reason to make you feel worse.’

They admitted that while they can “laugh about it” and are more in love than ever, they didn’t say a word to each other during the flight.
