Amy Poehler reveals the VERY Australian present she received from Hugh Jackman: ‘He’s a prince!’
Amy Poehler has opened up about the surprising gift she received from Hugh Jackman in 2001 after he appeared alongside her on Saturday Night Live.
The American comedian, 52, who attended the premiere of Inside Out 2 in Sydney on Monday, revealed that Jackman, 55, has a special place in her heart.
“You know who one of my favorites was Hugh Jackman, an absolute prince and so talented,” she said The Daily Telegraph.
“He gave everyone in the cast a case of Fosters beer.”
Jackman guest-hosted the long-running American sketch comedy show in December 2001, co-creating it with Poehler and Maya Rudolph.

Poehler added that although she was no longer with SNL when Chris Hemsworth, 40, guest hosted in 2015, she learned that he had a “powerful” presence and that his “essence remained” long after he left.
Amy cut a dashing figure at the premiere of Inside Out 2, wearing a three-piece cream suit that consisted of a sleek blazer, waistcoat and wide-leg trousers, and she added a pair of stacked patent heels to the look.
She dressed up with a black flower pinned to her lapel, as well as a pair of dainty earrings.
For makeup, the comedian opted for a pink, glowing look with a satin pink lipstick and wore her blonde hair back from her face.

Amy visits Australia for a special Vivid Ideas event at the Sydney Opera House.
The Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actress fronts Vivid Sydney Presents – In conversation with Amy Poehler plus a special first look at Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2, in which Poehler stars as the emotion Joy.
“I am very much looking forward to participating in Vivid Sydney this year, a place that welcomes Joy in every way,” Poehler said in a statement ahead of her visit.
“I can’t wait to share some of Inside Out 2: a film where joy and sadness, fear and envy – all try to work together in hilarious and moving ways,” she added.
It is the American star’s first performance in Sydney since 2015.
