Amy Hart has spoken out after being criticized for not doing baby weaning with son Stanley.
The former Love Island star, 31, announced on her Instagram story on Saturday that she had opted for the traditional rejection after fan concerns.
Baby-led weaning, or “BLV,” as Amy calls it in the clips, is a style that skips purees, meaning babies go straight from milk to solids.
Amy’s preference for traditional weaning created tension among fans who feared baby Stanley would have trouble developing motor skills.
Defending her parenting decisions, Amy said: “I didn’t want to wean the baby. It’s not for me and it won’t fit into our family.

‘I just want to say that this is not rhetoric against BLV.’ Amy clarified. “It’s just, I do traditional withdrawal.”
“I get so many messages saying, ‘No, you have to wean the baby.’ Like, he’s never going to have motor skills, he’s never going to be able to feed himself properly… unless you give up on the baby.”‘
Amy turned the camera around to show Stanley playing his toy xylophone with ease, next to Sam.
The reality star said she was speaking “just to reassure all the mums who do things the way I do”.
Amy, who rose to fame on Love Island in 2019, gave birth to Stanley in March.
She then wrote on Instagram: “Well…. 4 days of labor at home (which everyone told us were Bracton Hicks…they weren’t)
‘4 very short hours in labor and 5 long days in the hospital later, we are home with our dreamy baby boy!’
Amy has openly documented that she went through three rounds of egg freezing – two of which were successful and resulted in 12 eggs being frozen at a cost of £12,000.
However, she revealed that despite her fertility concerns, she conceived naturally and that her pregnancy with Stanley was “unplanned”.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child together on an August 2022 episode of Loose Women.
Sam proposed to Amy on a cruise last month.
