A woman was left shocked after seeing a male store worker ‘condescending’ and ‘dismissing’ his female colleague earlier this month.
Amy Dickinson was visiting a home décor store to return an item when a female employee who tried to help her was reportedly “silenced” by her male counterpart as he raised his hand to her mouth.
Amy, a victim of domestic abuse by a former partner, went viral on TikTok when she decided to stand up for the woman and called the man “rude” while filming the aftermath of the altercation.
“I just want to say that the way you silenced your female employer was so rude,” Amy said to the man, visibly shaking with anger.
She then turned to the woman and said, “I didn’t like seeing that and I hope he doesn’t treat you like that all the time.”

Although it is unclear what exactly the man said to Amy, he was able to apologize to her at some point for his behavior.
The video starts and ends with Amy berating the male worker, but she told it Yahoo lifestyle there was more to the story.
She said there was immediately something wrong with the way the man spoke to his “possibly new” colleague when the woman tried to help Amy.

But the final straw came when the man “put his hand to her mouth” and told her to keep quiet while the worker tried to explain the return process.
Amy said she tried to tell the woman she wasn’t sure if she had the correct receipt for the return, to which the woman tried to say, “Even if it’s not the correct receipt, we should be able to find you in the. ..’
At that moment, the man allegedly interrupted his female colleague by silencing her.

Surprised by the belittling, Amy tried to calm herself and complete the transaction before letting go of the male worker.
