Amy Adams ate dog food this week in the first trailer for the bizarre new horror comedy Nightb***h.
The 50-year-old Oscar nominee, who plays a housewife in the new film who fears she’s turning into a dog, unsettlingly got into character as she wolfed down food from a metal bowl.
The synopsis reads: ‘As she embraces the wild power inherent in motherhood, she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and unmistakable signs that she may be turning into a dog.’
The trailer opens with Adams’ character Mother adjusting to life as a suburban mom with her toddler son and husband (played by Scoot McNairy).
However, things take a sinister turn when her son points out the ‘hair’ on her face. Her eyes change and she notices that she is growing pointy fangs, just like a dog’s.

Mother quickly turns into a wolf and joins a pack of dogs every night. Adams is seen eating a tray of food without cutlery, digging a hole in her garden and eating dog food from a metal bowl with her son.
The increasingly wild mother tells one woman she can “crush a walnut with her vagina” and tells her amused mom friends, “I think I’m turning into a dog!”
After her husband reveals that he would prefer to stay home all day, mother tells him, “If you wake him up, [their son] I’ll rip your throat out!
In addition to Amy, Ella Thomas and Garrett C. Phillips also star in Nightb***h, a film adaptation of the 2021 novel by author Rachel Yoder.
Nightb***h will open in theaters on December 6, 2024, with a Toronto Film Festival premiere on September 7, 2024.
This is Adams’ first film since 2022’s Disenchanted.
When Amy isn’t busy filming movies, she’s busy raising her 14-year-old daughter Aviana with her husband Darren Le Gallo.

Mother struggles with her transformation

Amy and Darren met in 2001 while taking an acting class and started dating a year later while working together on the short film Pennies.
The couple got engaged in 2008 and welcomed daughter Aviana two years later in 2010.
They had a long engagement and said they were in no rush to get married. In 2015, they tied the knot at a ranch just outside Santa Barbara, California.
The actress said To tempt in 2016 that the couple decided to finally get married because Aviana “wanted a family wedding.”
Amy has previously spoken glowingly about her husband and the love he feels for their daughter.
She told Marie Claire back in 2018: ‘It’s sexy to watch him raise a girl and teach her how a man should treat her in a loving way.’

And the actress, who has been nominated for an Academy Award six times and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, hopes she can help remind her daughter of her own potential.
‘I do [Aviana] to know that it’s not just women who can fly, she can fly and she has to find her own light. I know she’s on that path,” she said Entertainment tonight after her Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremony in 2017.
“That’s something I have to remind her. No light shining on me creates a shadow for her to stand in.”
