Amplifier maker Marshall Group will be more inclined to double down on Britain than move away from it, says new boss
Marshall Group, the company behind the amplifiers used by stars like the late Jeff Beck, will be more inclined to double down on Britain than move away from it, the new boss said.
It was formed last month after the British family business was sold to Swedish Bluetooth speaker maker Zound Industries in a deal that valued the combined group at £325 million.
Under the agreement, all Marshall brands were acquired by Zound for an undisclosed sum of cash and stock.

Jeremy de Maillard, who will lead the expanded company, told the Daily Mail he was ‘fully committed to the UK footprint’ – despite the company being based in Stockholm.
“We will maintain and probably further strengthen that presence in the UK because it is so important to who we are as a brand,” he said.
Marshall employs 200 people in the UK, many of them at the Bletchley factory. The company was founded in 1962 by ‘The Father of Loud’ Jim Marshall.
His children Terry and Victoria, who have run the company since his death in 2012, will own 24 percent of the new group.
